She cracks me up...
Because I don't want to forget, another Ava story = ) (As background, Ava LOVES to help me in the kitchen as I am sure most two year olds do). Emma & Sophie were playing on the kitchen floor while we were eating breakfast and I asked them just to say something, "would you like to help mommy make pumpkin scones this morning?" Ava starts furiously shaking her head and says Ava turn, Ava's turn...and then with her head still shaking and her finger wagging, "too little, too little" meaning they were too little to help in the kitchen yet. She cracks me up!

Kids (Ava, Emma & Sophie) say/do the funniest things...
Hopefully, this will be a reoccurring post of funny or amazing things our girls do and say. With Ava now over two years old, the amazing and funny things are starting to come fast. We will do our best to chronicle as much as we can. This first post includes a few things from the past that we can remember. We love our girls.
10/24/11 - this morning Ava got to go to work with daddy. As they were driving away, mommy yelled "bye peanut" to Ava. To which Ava responded back "bye bye peanut"
all the time, ad naseum (referring to wipes - she is only allowed one, she took it to mean one at a time) - "just one more"
11/21/11 - usually when we go to the park, Ava brings along one of her dolls and pushes here in her dolly stroller as we push Emma and Sophie in the big stroller. This evening, Ava had put a diaper (yes, a real, size 3 diaper) on her dolly (which is very normal), but tonight, she grabbed two more...in her words "just in case, for later." You never know when your dolly might have a poopy diaper.
Also tonight, as mommy was taking off Sophie and Emma's clothes in preparation for bath time (all three of our girls usually take a bath together...but see below for the new exception), she called out for Ava to come here. Knowing what was to come next, she ran by saying "coooold" Meaning it was too cold to take her shirt off....thus she can't take a bath.
However, our little girl has graduated from taking baths to full fledged showers, and she is not even two and a half. Really. Yesterday morning, she wanted to take a shower with mommy. We while mommy was in the shower, Ava decided to brush her teeth instead. When mommy finished, Ava decide she now wanted to take a shower, so she disrobed, took her own diaper off, and hopped into the shower. She put her head under the water, lathered her own head with shampoo, and then put her own head back under the water to rinse (with mommy's help to make sure all was rinsed). Tonight, instead of taking a bath with Emma and Sophie, she took a shower....all by her self . I think next week she wants to look at used cars, sigh.

10 months
Emma and Sophie,
Wow, ten months. You two are both adorable little girls and are growing sooo fast! You are both standing on your own (for about 30 seconds), and we can tell you can't wait to start moving around like your big sister Ava. You both love "real" food (green english peas, carrots, french fries, and puffs/cheerios are your favorites), and you can both "dance" when you hear music. You are both very talkative and Sophie has said "mamma" several times. You both like to play ball, mommy rolls the ball to you and you pick it up and hand it back, over and over again. You both have extremely beautiful smiles (dimples and all) and we love to hear you giggle (Ava likes hearing that too). Oh, and on Nov. 20 (technically two days past your 10 month birthday), all three of you slept all the way through the night for the very first time....we are so proud - and thankful. We love you very much!!

So I don't forget....
Just some miscellaneous items I don't want to forget...
This afternoon we were unloading everyone out of the car after naps and Ava gave both of her sisters an Eskimo kiss...love that girl!
At dinner tonight, Sophie was sitting in a highchair at Aimee and Andrew's table and looked at me and said Mama and when I clapped and got excited she said it again multiple times with that adorable smile of hers! Love that girl! (for the record I love Emma too, but don't have any fun stories about her today...)
After baths we were all playing on Aunt Aimee and Uncle Andrews bed with Morgan and Jack and all of a sudden Jack yells "Emma's growing teeth!" you probably had to be there to appreciate how hilarious it was but truly, hilarious! Love that nephew of ours = )

9 months!
Can you believe it?!? There was a time when mommy and daddy thought this day would never come, and now we can not believe it has come this fast. You two are very happy, smiley little girls with a great laugh (Ava must have taught you). You are both getting around almost too good for 9 months. You have made it two the 5th step before mommy or daddy realized what you are doing (Emma), and you can crawl very fast and very quiet that several times you have been locked in the laundry room or on the porch before we realized you had crawled halfway across the house, through the open door in all of 3.5 seconds it takes to through something in the trash or in the laundry room (Sophie). Several times you both have stood up on your own for about 8 seconds before falling down. You two look amazingly like your older sister when she was 9 months, almost like we have triplets, and you all love playing together. We are truly blessed. We love you!

cutest pumkins in the patch
The weather here has been absolutly beautiful, so this past weekend, we drove up the road to Heather's pumkin patch. It was no ordinary pumkin patch. They had a small petting zoo, face painting, tire swings where the tire had been cut out to look like a horse, a giant "bounce pillow," a super slide, hay bales to run around, and a zip line that had the tire swing horses attached so little kids could zip (Ava LOVED the zip line, and quite frankly never stopped moving the whole time), little pedal tractors, and more. Ava, Emma and Sophie loved the pumkin patch and all brought home a pumpkin. An absolutely amazing fun day!

Random pictures of our cute girls
Here are some random pictures from the last few weeks. The first couple are from Mom mom's visit. Ava always loves pointing out the street cars when we drive in that part of town. So when we had an extra set of hands to hold little girls, we took Ava on a street car ride....She loved it and is willing to take anybody on a street car tour when they visit.
These pictures are from a finger paintin afternoon. Becki put some chocolate pudding in wide cake pan for ava to paint (taste), and put some plain yogurt in Emma and Sophie's tray for them to paint (taste). Masterpieces where created and devoured.
This last picture is of our sweet Sophie. When dinner time rolls around, they do not like to wait. Well, apparently we were taking too long to get back to the table to feed her, so she leaned forward as far as she could and grabbed her food for herself. As Ava would say, "She's hooooongry!"

8 months!
If you two don't slow down, we may never get another post up. You two are growing so fast and both of your are professional crawlers now - and very fast. At least twice you have made it to the back porch before daddy realized you were out there. You both FINALLY have both of your bottom two teeth we hope the next two come in much quicker. Emma and Sophie, you two love playing with Ava, and she can always make you two smile and laugh. Though you are a handful, mommy and daddy love watching you play together and could not imagine our family without you both. We love you!

Sophie giggling
It is always amusing what makes little girls giggle, and we are always willing to do what ever it takes, for it is such a beautiful sound. Here a few videos of Sophie laughing at daddy who has put a sticker on his nose. Why she finds this hilarious, who knows, but we happily obliged her. Ava, who is a great big sister and loves making her sisters laugh also gets in on the action.

Helping Daddy
Firsts...and where's Emma?
So we have had a few first around here that we don't want to forget = ) Sophie finally got her first tooth while we were in Florida on September 4th , Emma started crawling on August 29th right before we left on our trip and Sophie also started crawling while we were in Florida on the 5th. In other news, I was in the kitchen starting dinner tonight and I looked over to where Emma had been and couldn't see her. She had pulled herself up on the kitchen chair and was hidden by a shirt hanging there. Very cute...

Seven Months!
Emma & Sophie - you are getting so big! You both sit up on your own now and Emma can get herself to a sitting position. Sophie is not far behind. You both roll all around the room - we leave you in one spot with your toys and come back a minute later to find you across the room = ) You're starting to really develop your personalities which is a lot of fun to watch. You will sit across from each other and just giggle at each other and especially at your older sister. It's our favorite sound! You both have liked pretty much any food we have tried so far except carrots which made you both gag (does that sound familiar Aunt Aimee?). We gave you your first bath without the sling and together and you both loved it. Emma splashes away and Sophie laughs - very very cute! I don't know how much you weigh or how tall you are yet, we go to the doctor's in a few weeks but you are in size 3 diapers now and six month clothes for the most part finally. We love you both very much and are enjoying watching you grow and learn!

Ava did it!
So Ava's FAVORITE phrase these days is pretty typical for a two year old, "Ava do it, Ava do it" Anything she can figure out how to do herself, she wants to do which she thinks is pretty much everything = ) Anyway, this morning we were getting ready to go to the doctors and I asked her to find her shoes. Next thing I know, I hear her saying "Ava did it, Ava did it" She had gotten her shoes on all by her little self AND they were on the right feet ~ I know that was pretty much luck but since I am her mommy I can go ahead and brag on her brilliance = ) She was so proud of herself that I took some pictures....the first one is her saying "ava did it".
