One Year Old

Well, it happened. Ava Elise, you are now one year old! My, what an amazing - and fast - year this has been. This time last year your mom and dad were quickly and joyfully realzing they were now parents. And not just any parents, but parents of the most beautiful, smart, and fun-loving little girl in the whole world. Over the past twelve months, we have watched you learn to roll over, sit up, eat real food, crawl, stand-up, and take your first step (though it was on accident). You are a very inquisitive little girl who loves to do and look at new things and you want to know how everything works - though this sometimes makes going to sleep difficult - you do not want to miss anything. You mimic your mommy in almost way you know how (talking on the phone, wiping a counter, washing your face). And though you have taken a wobbly step or two, you are not quite walking on your own - yet, but it won't be long. You will use anything you can to help you take steps - and have even started holding mommy and daddy's hand to walk where you want to go. And of course, since the day of your birth, you have had the most amazing smile that lights up your entire face. Your mommy and daddy are very proud and honored that our God let us be your parents and we are looking forward to the years to come...
